Dental Emergencies
We allocate emergency spaces in our diary every day to ensure we have capacity for patients to see us urgently when they need to.
In case of an emergency during practice hours, please contact the practice immediately and we will endeavour to see a patient in pain on the same day.
If you require emergency treatment outside surgery hours please call 01343 542729 and you will hear an answering machine message providing instructions on emergency cover for that day. Patients should note there may be a charge for use of this service.

How do I book an emergency appointment?
Each dentist has dedicated emergency time available every day, in the morning and the afternoon. The practice will do all it can to see emergencies on the same day, however we would request patients call as early in the day as they can. Sometimes these appointments are in high demand, the practice will do all we can to accommodate patients and offer an appointment with their registered dentist but this may not always be possible.
Do you provide out of hours emergency cover?
All patients at The South Street Dental Practice have access to an out of hours service. Should a patient have a genuine dental emergency we ask they contact the practice and the answerphone will give them instructions on how to contact the on call dentist. Please note there may be a charge for use of this service.
Are emergencies included in your dental plan?
Yes, both in hours and out of hours emergencies are included in our dental plan.
I’m abroad and have a dental emergency, what should I do?
If you are covered on our dental plan this includes a worldwide dental emergency helpline.
